This project represents the finish line of a creative marathon: the final challenge from the Motion Master School courses, led by Tiago Castro. I put a series of advanced techniques into practice to create something that would stand out, and the effort was rewarded with 2nd place in the monthly challenge and 3rd place in the overall competition.
The main focus was to bring the character to life in a convincing way. He was built with a hybrid Duik and Puppet Pin rig, but I took the details a step further.
Hands: The fingers were rigged using the FK Overlap technique to create a highly organic and automatic "whip" effect.
Head: For the head, I utilized the CC Cylinder effect within its main composition. This allowed me to create an extra sense of depth during the rotation of the face, mouth, and glasses, effectively simulating 3D volume with 2D assets.
Scene: To complete the piece, the environment and the outro were built in 2.5D, using the After Effects camera to create depth and movement, adding a special touch to the final composition.
